Leisurely beach walks and beautiful food
March 31, 2010 6:46 am Travel and LeisureMy first year wedding anniversary was coming up and I thought it would be nice to take my wife away out of Hamilton, ideally somewhere with water to enjoy the last of the summer swimming. I found a very modern taupo lakefront hotel with spectacular mountain and water views. We had three days and two nights of beautiful weather with amazing pink evening sunsets. Our location was ideal for walking into town, which we did both days for yummy café breakfasts. Both nights we ate at the hotel as they had a very reasonable and delicious menu on offer. The desserts were amazing as we heard that one of the chef’s worked as a pastry chef in France. It was a wonderful break away.
