It will bring a lot of warmth to the area so your gas furnace does not have to use as much gas. An electric fireplace is very easy to maintain and they are a lot easier to use than a traditional wood burning fireplace. With electric fireplaces there is no need to chop wood and keep it in a stack outside. Then you have to go outside and lug the wood inside. This is not very fun when it is very cold outside. Then after burning the logs, you have to clean up the ashes.
