Dr. Ismail Raji al-Faruqi (January 1, 1921 - May 27, 1986) is a famous Palestinian-American scholar and philosopher, who’s widely accepted by his compeers as an expert on Islamism and comparative religion. He has stayed for many years at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt and has a good knowledge about the religion of Islam and the muslim world. He instructed at numerous universities in North America, including McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He was the Professor of Religion at Temple University, where he set up and directed the Islamic Studies syllabus for the university. In short, Dr. Faruqi had the experience and knowledge to deal with the problems in the Muslim world today.
