Between the two of us, it took us hours to sort out what was allowed and what wasn’t. I decided that I wouldn’t let that happen again, and I actually enrolled myself in some online courses in tax accounting. I didn’t need to professional knowledge at all, other than for our own personal use. The cost of the class was roughly equal to an accountant’s cost for one year’s tax return, and my knowledge will be useful year after year after year!
