1. Only choose foods that have nutritional information available (on packaging, menus, or through online search). 2. Check calories and fat, and total the amounts you eat each day. 3. After a week of tracking data, you will have a good idea of your current consumption patterns. 4. Restrict your amount of calories and fat by 10% for the next week. And, increase your amount of bulky foods(grains, vegetables, etc.) by 10%. Stay with this small change in diet for at least one week. 5. Further restrict calories and fat by another 10%, and increase bulky foods. By slowly reducing your intake, and replacing higher-fat-and-calorie foods with bulky slow-to-digest foods, you should see a weight loss of about one pound per week.
