In the UK, it is an undergraduate degree; whereas inside the USA, it is a post graduate degree. Throughout the USA, Podiatrists usually do a 3 year residence; whereas in the UK, they do not do a residency. In the USA, they have wide access to prescription medications, whereas within the UK, they have limited access. In the USA, surgical training is component regarding the degree and the residency; whereas inside the UK surgical training is something which starts after they are registered. In the USA, they are almost medical practitioners, whereas in the UK, they are considered allied health practitioners.
