Carbohydrate As An Energy Source

11:45 am Health and Fitness

The body requires energy to function properly and this energy can be obtained from the food that is taken in. The two main energy sources of the body are fats and carbohydrates. However, for activities that are short-term, the body consumes energy from carbohydrates. The intake of carbohydrate foods is necessary to provide the body with energy to be able to do simple activities.

However, people who have problems with their blood-sugar levels control their consumption of carbohydrate foods. This is because carbohydrates, which contain sugar and starch, are the main substances that greatly affect glucose levels in the blood.
