A chief compliance officer is responsible for overseeing the corporate compliance program of an organization and reviewing/evaluating compliance issues within the organization. It is the duty of a chief compliance officer to ensure that the board of directors, management, and employees comply with the rules set by regulatory agencies. A chief compliance officer also ensures that company policies and procedures are being followed. A chief compliance officer should have a bachelor’s degree and preferably a degree in law. Experience of 5+ years in the area of compliance is usually required.
